I on the other hand was lucky enough to attend the Masterclass held in Tanjung Rhu, Langkawi from 20-23rd July 2011 www.tanjungrhu.com.my/ and also the workshop held in Kuala Lumpur on 24th July 2011. I have watched ‘America Next Top Model’ for most of its seasons and was blown away when i knew one of its judges, will be coming to Malaysia. Everyone in Malaysia who have watched the show will surely know the tall, dark and handsome Photographer “Nigel Barker” I knew him as a renowned and respected fashion photographer in America. However i was really surprised that he was more than just a fashion/commercial photographer that most people knew him for. On the 1st day of the Masterclass he showed us images based on project he had worked on. The first was the HSUS’s Protect Seals campaign which highlights the gruesome act of cruelty to seals, the 2nd was a documentary on Haiti: Hunger & Hope  and the 3rd documentary, Generation Free. The film highlights the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation’s fight to prevent mother-to-child transmission of HIV in Tanzania. All of the images and the stories behind it had made a profound impact on me as a Photographer. Photography in itself is a powerful tool as it is able to move hearts and change minds. Thus i had learned much more than just studio lighting technique or how to get a superb reaction from people. I am truly inspired and i know the rest who attended the Masterclass in Langkawi could not agree more with me. Congratulations to Epic Voyage team who had worked 24/7 on the bringing Nigel Barker to Malaysia. Best Regards to Lee Adelaine, of Epic Voyage for her hard work.

Nicole Seit was recommended thorough a school friend of mine who lives in Singapore, who happens to be her sister. Nicole lives independently in Sydney and contacted me for a photo shoot in Malaysia before she turned the big 40! She was nervous on the day of shoot and kept telling me that she does not know how to pose and is not a model. Well i think she did a terrific job by looking at the photos below.

Estee and Aidil met via mutual friends. Estee’s cousin was dating Aidil best friend, at the time they had met. Love  grew between the two of them, as they had time and time again went out with their group of friends. Eventually they decided to get married  and the rest is history. The wedding reception was held at Merak Kayangan in Kuala Lumpur. It was  a nice wedding full of wonderful memories among family and friends. Enjoy the photos below:

Best friends ‘Shirieene Hajamaideen’ and ‘Rekha Sen’, had turned their love of fashion into a thriving business for the past 10 years.They started in November 2002, and opened Maizen Boutique in Lot 10, the first store in Malaysia to debut labels such as Catherine Malandrino, T-bags, Tracy Reese and Rebecca Taylor. Two years later, they expanded it to a full concept boutique called Maizen Maison (French for Maizen at home). Maizen is now located in Jalan Maarof Bangsar with a wide seletion of clothes from children to adults.

In view of their 10th year anniversary what better way, then to celebrate in style with their friends and clients at Carcosa Seri Negara.  It was a blast.
